Series I

Safety & care

Safety warnings

Read and retain all instructions before use or disassembly. Damage caused by not following them is not covered by the warranty.

  • Spring under compression. The refill spring is compressed and can eject when the bolt handle is removed. Point the body away from your face and wear eye protection during disassembly.
  • Choking hazard. Small components including the bolt, handle, spring, and refill present a choking hazard. Keep all loose parts out of reach of children under 3 years of age. Intended for adult use only.
  • Use supplied wrench only. Do not use pliers, metal wrenches, or power tools. Hard jaws mar the finish of the bolt handle, and slipping metal tools cause injury.
  • Intended use. Writing and sketching instrument only. Do not use as a pry bar, lever, punch, or self-defense tool; bending loads will damage the brass body.
  • Material notice. C693 Eco Brass is a copper-zinc alloy. Individuals with known metal sensitivities or copper/zinc allergies should avoid prolonged skin contact.
  • Thermal notice. Brass is highly thermally conductive. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight, as the metal can rapidly heat.
  • Electrical hazard. Solid brass is fully conductive. Do not insert the pen tip or body into live electrical outlets, switchboxes, or exposed wiring to prevent severe shock or short-circuiting.

Care & handling

Daily care. Wipe lengthwise with a dry, lint-free cloth. Oils from hands darken bare brass into a unique natural patina; this is expected. Polishing is at the owner’s risk. Avoid acidic solutions; they discolor brass.

Deep cleaning. If needed, use a non-acidic, ammonia-free degreaser labeled safe for brass or copper, diluted per its label, by hand or in an ultrasonic bath. Rinse with clean water and dry immediately; do not soak. Never use bleach, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners.

Lubrication. None required. Keep assembly dry; oils attract lint and debris, binding action.

Refills. Fits Parker-style G2 refills; do not modify or force non-standard cartridges.

Material

The Series I is machined from C693 Eco Brass (C69300), a copper-zinc-silicon alloy. C693 Eco Brass is classified as lead-free under the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act standard (no more than 0.25% lead), and C69300 is specified at 0.09% lead maximum. People with copper or zinc sensitivities should avoid prolonged skin contact.
